Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical CAD Designer to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing precise electrical system designs and detailed CAD documentation that support construction, manufacturing, and system integration projects. Your expertise will help ensure that electrical layouts and schematics meet industry standards and building codes, contributing to the successful delivery of complex projects across various sectors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while utilizing cutting-edge CAD and BIM tools to bring electrical concepts to life. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive electrical system designs, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout plans using advanced CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Creo. Create detailed 3D models and building information models (BIM) to visualize electrical systems within architectural and engineering frameworks. Prepare accurate CAD documentation adhering to electrical building codes such as NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 compliance standards. Collaborate closely with engineering teams, architects, construction managers, and clients to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs. Generate precise drawings for electrical wiring, system layouts, panel schedules, and schematic diagrams for construction or manufacturing purposes. Assist in reviewing design specifications, ensuring compliance with electrical engineering principles and industry standards. Support construction teams by providing technical guidance on electrical system installation, modifications, and troubleshooting during project execution. Skills Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, NavisWorks, Bluebeam, and other Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools. Strong knowledge of electrical system design principles, including schematics creation and electrical wiring layouts. Experience with electrical building codes such as NEC and NFPA 70 standards to ensure code-compliant designs. Familiarity with 3D modeling software like Creo for complex system visualization. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications accurately. Knowledge of PCB design principles and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus for integrated control systems. Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams on large-scale projects. Experience in construction environments involving electrical wiring installation and layout design. Competence in using Microsoft Office tools for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes.
