The Designer II is under the direct stewardship of the Sr. Production Manager. The Designer II serves as the primary resource for time-intensive design and drawing/modeling tasks for producing construction documents. The Designer II operates in a fast-paced environment where a disciplined nature, resourcefulness, and attention to detail are critical. The Designer II is an intermediate production design role responsible for preparing construction documents, participating in plan development activities, and supporting project execution with increasing independence. This role applies established drafting standards, construction knowledge, and technical skills to produce accurate and timely deliverables while continuing to expand discipline-specific expertise.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Drafting, Design, and Plan Development Prepare Site Specific Construction Documents Revise Construction Documents as directed Adhere to Drafting Standards and job timelines Support plan development activities and complete assigned drafting and design tasks with limited supervision. Project Tracking and Communication Maintain log of work performed Effectively track time and job status to maintain efficient workflow Efficient and Competent use of project tracking software Communicate effectively with AS/PDL/Sr. PDM Demonstrates accountability for the accuracy, completeness, and quality of assigned work products. Use available resources efficiently and effectively Performs all other assigned duties To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. KNOWLEDGE
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 to 2 years of drafting experience Intermediate Knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit software Working knowledge of construction document preparation and drafting standards. Working knowledge of residential construction techniques and applicable building code requirements. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365 software
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to independently complete routine drafting and design assignments while identifying and resolving standard design issues. Ability to take ownership of the production process and the resulting finished product Task driven with a strong attention to detail Excel at meeting deadlines by utilizing good communication and prioritization skills Willing and helpful nature Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with other employees Proficiency in English Language, reading, spoken, and written
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
General Office Environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
