full-time Job Summary The Axel Group is currently seeking an AutoCAD Operator to join our client's team in the Naples, FL area. Our client is a well-established, high-end custom home builder specializing in luxury residential construction throughout Southwest Florida. The company is known for building highly customized homes and providing a hands-on approach throughout the design and construction process. The AutoCAD Operator will play an important role in supporting the design and construction of high-end custom homes. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining drawings, plans, and construction documents while working closely with the internal team throughout the design/build process. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys working on custom residential projects rather than repetitive production drafting. The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD skills, attention to detail, and the ability to take plans from initial concepts through revisions and construction documentation. The position offers the opportunity to work in a smaller, hands-on environment where your work directly contributes to the design and construction of high-end custom homes. You'll have exposure to the full project lifecycle and work closely with the team to ensure drawings accurately reflect the requirements of each unique project. Job Duties & Responsibilities Develop, modify, and maintain detailed AutoCAD drawings for high-end custom residential projects. Prepare plans, construction drawings, and other documentation used throughout the design and construction process. Make revisions to drawings based on project requirements, design changes, and feedback from the internal team. Work closely with the design and construction teams to ensure drawings accurately reflect project requirements. Review plans and drawings for accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail. Assist with developing construction documents for custom homes from the design phase through construction. Interpret architectural plans, specifications, and project information to create accurate drawings. Maintain organized drawing files and ensure plans are updated as projects progress. Coordinate drawing changes and revisions throughout the project lifecycle. Support the team with drafting and documentation needs across multiple custom residential projects. Work in a hands-on environment where attention to detail and accuracy are critical to the successful execution of each home. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong proficiency in AutoCAD. Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and construction documents. Strong understanding of drafting principles and construction documentation. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to visualize and understand residential construction plans. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and drawing revisions. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Comfortable working in a hands-on environment and communicating with both design and construction professionals. Ability to work independently while also taking direction and incorporating feedback. Interest in custom residential design and construction. Education & Experience Requirements 3+ years previous experience using AutoCAD in a professional setting. Experience with residential drafting, architectural drafting, or construction documentation preferred. Experience working with custom homes or high-end residential construction is a plus. Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate construction documents.
