Trimmed Out Inc. — Seminole, Florida Trimmed Out Inc. is a custom marine fabrication company specializing in high-quality, purpose-built components for boats and marine applications. We are looking for a Design Associate to join our team and help turn customer ideas, measurements, sketches, and existing components into production-ready designs. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys designing real products that actually get built. You'll be involved in the process from concept and layout through CNC setup and production. Responsibilities Create and modify designs for custom marine components and accessories Translate customer requests, sketches, photos, and measurements into workable designs Prepare accurate 2D drawings and production-ready files Work with materials such as Starboard, acrylic, plastics, and other marine-grade materials Verify dimensions, fit, clearances, hardware placement, and functionality before production Prepare designs and toolpaths for CNC production Assist with CNC setup, production, and troubleshooting as needed Revise existing products and designs as needed Maintain organized design files, drawings, and revisions Assist with measuring and documenting existing boat components when required Help develop new products and improve existing designs What We're Looking For Strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy Mechanical and spatial aptitude Comfortable working with measurements, fractions, and basic geometry Ability to visualize how parts fit together and how they will be manufactured Experience with CAD, vector design, CNC software, or similar design tools Ability to take a project from a rough concept through production Good communication skills Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple projects Knowledge of boats, marine layouts, components, and how things are actually used on the water is a major plus Preferred Experience Experience with any of the following is a plus: Vectric VCarve Pro AutoCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software CNC routers Marine fabrication or boat building Hands-on boating experience and familiarity with common boat systems, layouts, hardware, and accessories Starboard and acrylic fabrication Cabinetry, millwork, plastics fabrication, or product design Creating technical drawings or production files Marine experience is not strictly required, but someone who understands boats will have a real advantage in this role. The better you understand how boats are laid out, used, rigged, and modified, the easier it will be to design parts that actually work in the real world. The Right Person We're looking for someone who likes figuring things out. You should be comfortable taking something as simple as a photo, a rough sketch, or a conversation with a customer and turning it into something that can actually be manufactured. You'll need to think about not only how something looks, but how it fits, functions, assembles, and gets produced. This is not strictly a desk-based graphic design position. It's a combination of design, engineering thinking, CNC production, problem-solving, and real-world marine fabrication.
