Gem State Staffing -Payette

CAD Technician

Job Description

Gem State Staffing is seeking a CAD Technician / Drafter for a local manufacturer of custom stainless steel equipment for the food processing industry. Projects include conveyors, platforms, mezzanines, tanks, stands, and other equipment built for food plants. If you have a mechanical mindset, enjoy working with drawings, and catch details others miss, this could be a great opportunity. Experience with 2D drafting is a good starting point—training in Autodesk Inventor and company processes is provided for the right candidate. What You'll Do Turn approved designs into CAD models and accurate shop drawings. Create and maintain part numbers, descriptions, and bills of materials. Record manufactured and purchased components in the company's Product Data Management (PDM) system. Enter equipment and component information into JobBoss, the software used to manage shop operations. Coordinate purchasing for individual projects and organize parts into assembly kits. Work closely with designers and participate in design reviews on the shop floor. Identify missing components, mismatched dimensions, and other issues before they affect fabrication or assembly. What We're Looking For A foundation in CAD or 2D drafting. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how parts fit and function together. Strong attention to detail and an organized approach to work. Dependability, follow-through, and a willingness to learn. Confidence to ask questions and speak up when something looks incorrect. An interest in helping the shop build equipment accurately and efficiently. Training Provided Autodesk Inventor is the primary design software. You don't need to know every tool or system on day one—we're looking for someone with the right foundation, practical thinking, and motivation to learn. Interested? Submit your resume through Indeed and contact our office at (208) 739-9805 to schedule an interview. We look forward to meeting you!
