Job Description

Job Summary North Shore Marine Terminal & Logistics, Inc. is seeking a CAD Designer to join our team. This position will support our ship repair projects, fabrication shop, and project management teams by creating accurate technical drawings and assisting with the planning and execution of marine projects. Responsibilities Create, modify, and maintain 2D and 3D CAD drawings for marine and ship-repair projects, as well as other fabrication projects not marine-based. Develop detailed fabrication, structural, mechanical, and layout drawings from sketches, field measurements, specifications, and engineering information. Work closely with project managers, supervisors, engineers, and tradespeople to ensure drawings accurately reflect project requirements. Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, material requirements, and constructability. Make revisions based on field conditions, customer requirements, and project changes. Assist with creating as-built drawings and maintaining organized project documentation. Visit vessels and project sites to obtain measurements and gather information when needed. Interpret engineering plans, specifications, and technical documents. Assist with estimating material quantities and supporting project planning. Maintain organized CAD files, drawing revisions, and project records. Follow company safety procedures and applicable industry standards. Skills Experience with AutoCAD or comparable CAD software required. Experience creating detailed technical or fabrication drawings. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to visualize dimensions, structures, and components in three dimensions. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently while also collaborating with project managers and field personnel. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Marine, shipbuilding, fabrication, structural steel, mechanical, or industrial experience is a plus.
