Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Mechanical Design/Drafter to join our dynamic engineering team. This role involves developing detailed mechanical drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation to support the design and manufacturing of complex mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong proficiency in CAD software, mechanical drafting, and system design principles, contributing to innovative solutions across various projects. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse engineering challenges, utilizing advanced tools and adhering to industry standards to ensure precision and quality in all deliverables. Duties Create detailed 2D drawings and schematics for mechanical components and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor. Manager will accept Solidworks but candidate will be trained and need to use Inventor for the assignment. Develop accurate 3D models for product design, system layout, and integration. Design/Draft welded components, sheetmetal parts, aluminum components, etc. Collaborate with design engineers to translate conceptual ideas into precise technical drawings adhering to ASME codes & standards. Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools for construction projects and system design. Incorporate GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles into drawings to ensure manufacturing precision. Maintain organized CAD files using PDM (Product Data Management) software for version control and data integrity. Review drawings for compliance with industry standards and project requirements before release. Requirements Proven experience in mechanical drafting, 2D CAD drafting, and 3D modeling for product or system design. Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor. Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and system design processes. Familiarity with GD&T standards and CAD documentation practices. Experience working with building information modeling (BIM) tools is a plus. Understanding of ASME codes & standards relevant to mechanical design. Knowledge of PDM software for data management and version control. Excellent technical writing skills combined with attention to detail. Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams across various projects.
