We're looking for a motivated, tech-savvy person ready to enter the professional world who wants to learn CAD and build a career in a hands-on, collaborative environment. Job Summary This is an entry-level opportunity designed for someone just getting started who is eager to learn CAD software and contribute to real surveying and engineering projects. If you're comfortable with technology, detail-oriented, and excited to master tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, or similar software, this role is a great starting point. If you have the basics of CAD even better! Responsibilities Learn and apply CAD software (primarily AutoCAD Civil 3D and Carlson Survey) to prepare drawings, plans, and maps under guidance. Assist with processing survey data and creating basic topographic, boundary, and construction-related plans. Collaborate with surveyors and engineers while learning accurate design and drafting practices. Property record research and documentation. Help perform quality checks on drawings to meet project standards. Support the creation of simple 3D models for existing conditions as you build skills. Organize CAD files and project documentation. Assist field crews with data collection and preparation, also assist with field-to-finish workflows as you gain experience. Ideal Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework, technical certification, or self-taught tech skills are a plus but not required. Have to be able to show up on time. Be reliable. Strong interest in learning CAD and civil engineering / land surveying work. Tech-savvy with a demonstrated ability to quickly pick up new software and tools. Must be local—this is an in-office position (not remote). Excellent attention to detail, willingness to learn, and problem-solving mindset. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Intermediate to advanced familiarity with computers, file management is highly recommended, and any drafting, design, or mapping software is helpful but not mandatory. Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills Any exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, Trimble, or similar programs (even from school projects or personal use). Interest in coordinate systems, maps, or outdoor/field work related to surveying. Strong communication skills and eagerness to ask questions and grow.
