Thermo Bond Solutions builds the physical infrastructure behind the next wave of high-density, AI-driven compute: engineered, precast, and deployed close to where the power and the workload live. As a Senior Project Designer, you won't just draft buildings. You'll design the vaults, layouts, and systems that make edge computes possible at scale, working alongside Product Management, Business Development, and Manufacturing to carry a concept from sketch to shipped product. We need someone who thinks in both CAD and consequences: strong technical skills, sound judgment, and the drive to solve real problems fast in a market by moving faster than most.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No direct supervisory responsibilities. Provides technical guidance and mentoring to junior designers and drafting personnel as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the design & documentation of customer projects from initial requirements through customer approval and manufacturing release. Interface with Business Development team and customers to clarify specifications, identify design constraints, and develop drawing packages. Support Product Management team with New Product Introduction (NPI) design and integration of new buildings & equipment Create and maintain 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, fabrication drawings, manufacturing drawings, and customer approval packages using applicable CAD and modeling software. Develop product layouts for edge compute vaults, integrated equipment enclosures, energy infrastructure buildings, utility control houses, and telecommunications shelters. Coordinate structural, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, equipment, access, and service- clearance requirements within the building design. Build and maintain accurate Bills of Material (BoMs) and related manufacturing work-order information within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Work closely with Integration, Electrical, Engineering, Purchasing, Assembly and Manufacturing to verify drawing detail, material selections, and project-specific requirements. Senior Project Designer Develop standardized templates, reusable assemblies, design libraries, and repeatable product configurations to improve quality and lead time. Support design reviews, product standardization, continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned. Mentor junior designers and promote consistent drafting, modeling, and document-control practices. Additional responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of progressively responsible experience in mechanical, electrical, building, industrial equipment, modular construction, manufacturing design, drafting, or a closely related discipline. 2+ years of experience specifically in telecommunications or data Demonstrated proficiency with CAD, 3D modeling, or drafting software. Experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD products is strongly preferred; applicable experience with SolidWorks, Revit, Creo, CATIA, MicroStation, or comparable platforms will also be considered. Experience producing customer approval drawings, manufacturing drawings, fabrication drawings, and complete design packages. Working knowledge of building construction and the ability to read and interpret structural, mechanical, electrical, and customer-supplied drawings and specifications. Experience in creating and maintaining Bills of Material and engineering documentation within an ERP or manufacturing system. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate design alternatives for manufacturability, cost, quality, and schedule. Well-developed written and verbal communication, organization, and project coordination skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and revisions with limited supervision.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
5+ years experience with CAD drafting software, familiarity with AutoDesk Inventor preferred Electrical distribution, UPS systems, generators, HVAC, controls, fire suppression, security, or integrated equipment layouts. Prefabricated, precast, and/or modular building design. Fabrication and manufacturing processes, including material selection and production support. Product configuration, design standardization, or development of reusable CAD libraries. Successful launch of 2+ products, initial conception to design and eventual launch to production.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate or bachelor's degree in Drafting, Design Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, Construction Technology, or Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering 5+ years of applicable design, drafting, modeling, or manufacturing experience.
TRAVEL, HOURS OF WORK & SUPERVISION
This is a full-time position. Some overnight travel may be required on occasion. The employee is expected to independently manage assigned design work while coordinating with the respective managers and cross-functional program teams.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This position is a full-time, on-site, salaried position and is eligible to participate in Thermo Bond vacation, medical, 401K, and life insurance programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
(including but not limited to): Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facility. Able to lift/carry 15 lbs.
