$100-120K plus Bonus and Excellent Benefits Essential Functions Develop a general knowledge of all products and manufacturing processes. Develop a working knowledge of the chemistries, unit operations, and procedures used to produce core products. Serve as Product Owner for assigned products, including: Monitor production and interact with Operations personnel on a daily basis during manufacturing. Develop new and improve existing Controlled Operating Procedures (COPs), ensuring documentation is current, accurate, and properly maintained. Provide direct support for pilot batches and scale-up activities for new products. Review assigned product costs annually and recommend approved changes to Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production routes based on data and analysis. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities. Generate reports and monitor key production variables on a monthly or quarterly basis. Work with Operations to track and maintain critical controllable process parameters. Lead risk management and process safety initiatives related to assigned products. Serve as the Maintenance contact for repairs involving reaction systems associated with assigned products. Use root cause analysis tools to investigate product-related non-conformances. Take ownership of related non-conformances and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), including customer and administrative issues, and ensure actions are followed through to closure. Maintain, generate, and report information requested by customers. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on new product development opportunities and existing customer relationships as needed. Support new product development through the Stage Gate process, including: Coordinating product ownership and customer relationships. Developing and maintaining documentation required to support new products. Producing laboratory-scale batches and conducting design of experiments as needed. Supporting pilot batches and training Operations personnel with the goal of successful commercial-scale production. Demonstrate active engagement in company values and standards of professional conduct. Execute Management of Change processes for changes involving manufacturing processes, facilities, or equipment. Coordinate contractors and internal resources to implement approved changes. Use project management tools and techniques to lead cross-functional teams focused on implementing changes, process improvements, and troubleshooting complex issues. Support production operations, which may include: Providing expertise related to production interface issues. Facilitating effective communication with Operations through efficient COP development and support. Supporting the review and closure of COPs. Assisting with production scheduling and purchasing coordination as needed. Tracking critical process parameters. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering preferred, or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Senior Engineer:
7+ years of hands-on experience in a chemical manufacturing environment as a Process or Production Engineer. Proven track record of successful project management from initial scope development through implementation. Demonstrated ability to organize and lead meetings and cross-functional teams while managing multiple projects and priorities. Experience with batch chemical processing preferred, particularly at laboratory and pilot scale. Experience with laboratory glassware and equipment setup in accordance with laboratory safety standards. Knowledge of quality, environmental, and process safety management systems, including
OSHA PSM, ISO
9001, and ISO 14001, preferred. Knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies, including Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Lean principles, preferred. Strong ability to multitask, prioritize complex issues, and independently manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. ERP experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across departments and build strong interpersonal relationships. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong mathematical aptitude. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. Ability to exercise sound judgment, evaluation, analysis, creativity, and problem-solving skills when working with complex teams and situations. Ability to make independent decisions based on established policies and procedures. Ability to meet deadlines and follow established best practices.
