EAD supports clients' projects on hundreds of systems in industrial manufacturing facilities specializing in food, pharmaceuticals and parcel. This opportunity will enable you to enjoy a fast-paced environment working on projects of all sizes and complexities! EAD Engineering is looking for an Associate Process Engineer for projects in industrial and processing facilities. The Associate Process Engineer independently executes process engineering design, documentation, equipment sizing, and multidisciplinary coordination activities. This role applies to sound engineering judgment to develop safe, reliable, buildable, and cost-effective process solutions while expanding technical expertise, client relationships, and project leadership capabilities. Responsibilities Prepare drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and EAD standards Independently develop process heat and material balances, equipment sizing calculations, hydraulic calculations, utility demand analyses, and supporting process design calculations with minimal oversight Develop complete and coordinated process documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), equipment data sheets, calculations, and supporting design documentation Coordinate with process equipment vendors, evaluate technical information, and document equipment recommendations Perform process design calculations Consult on environmental compliance issues and permitting Participate in discipline-specific and company-wide business development Lead assigned process engineering workstreams or small projects, including coordination of scope, schedule, budgeted hours, quality, and technical deliverables Coordinate with clients, vendors, construction administrators, and multidisciplinary project teams; develop technical recommendations, communicate design decisions, and drive assigned action items to completion Perform and document technical design reviews with other disciplines on the project team to produce the highest level of quality Responsible for adhering to all EAD's safety standards and practices Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution Approximately 3 or more years of process engineering experience in industrial and processing facilities. Knowledge of process engineering fundamentals Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), or commitment to obtain PE licensure within 18 months of employment. Commitment to complete at least one approved technical development activity annually that expands process engineering knowledge or project execution capability Possess organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clients, vendors and in-house staff Proficient with Excel spreadsheets including macros Ability to troubleshoot processoperational problems and provide solutions Self-starter with strong attention to detail AutoCAD experience a plus Possess and able to maintain a valid driver's license Proficient in
Microsoft Office Preferred Certification and Skills:
Experience with Aspen or CHEMCAD process simulation software preferred AutoCAD experience a plus
Working Conditions:
Office, plant, or client site environment
  • Ability to sit and work at computer for extended periods of time Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day and/or work in tight spaces in extreme conditions May work near moving mechanical parts and equipment
  • Office, Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Periodic weekend, holiday or evening work as needed Travel required EAD will provide training, administrative/engineering controls, and personal protective equipment as necessary.
