Process Technician (Blow Molding Manufacturing) Position Summary The Process Technician is responsible for setting up, starting up, troubleshooting, and optimizing blow molding equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role works closely with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to minimize downtime, improve process performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The Process Technician serves as the technical expert on molding processes, machine performance, tooling, and product quality. Please only apply if you have blow molding experience! Key Responsibilities Perform mold changes, machine setups, startups, and process adjustments on blow molding equipment. Establish and maintain process parameters to achieve quality and production targets. Troubleshoot molding, equipment, and quality issues to minimize downtime and scrap. Monitor production performance and make process improvements to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Conduct first-piece approvals and verify products meet specifications and quality standards. Assist operators with machine operation, troubleshooting, and technical training. Support preventive maintenance activities and identify equipment reliability concerns. Document process settings, startup procedures, and production issues accurately. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, housekeeping, and environmental standards. Work with maintenance personnel to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues. Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on OEE, cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and productivity improvements. Maintain molds, tooling, auxiliary equipment, and associated production systems. Support production scheduling requirements, including overtime and shift coverage as needed. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. 3+ years of experience in blow molding manufacturing. Experience performing machine setups, mold changes, startups, and process troubleshooting. Knowledge of extrusion blow molding (EBM), injection stretch blow molding (ISBM), and/or injection blow molding processes. Ability to interpret process sheets, quality specifications, and work instructions. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Basic computer skills and ability to complete production documentation. Preferred Technical degree, vocational training, or related manufacturing certification. Experience with plastics processing and resin handling. Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and statistical process control (SPC). Experience working in a high-volume 24/7 manufacturing environment.
