Summer 2027 - Building Performance Engineering Internship Opportunity at HGA!

Location:

Madison, WI Begin to build your future at HGA! We have an excellent opportunity for a college or graduate school student for a paid summer internship in summer of 2027. The summer internship is typically 12 weeks in length beginning on or before June 1, 2027, through mid-August (depending on your schedule). HGA is a full-service planning and design firm of over 1,000 professionals offering planning, engineering, architecture and interior design services in 12 offices. Our nationally recognized, integrated team of experts brings a highly collaborative and transparent approach that ensures the success of clients' projects. At HGA, we are committed to meeting our clients' sustainability goals as well as challenging our industry. We aim to develop the expertise and research to push beyond net zero energy to net positive energy and to carbon reductions in our structures through our participation in the SE2050 challenge. Summer internship dates: June 1, 2027 - Mid-August (With flexibility to start earlier depending on your school schedule) What you'll do: As a Building Performance Engineering Intern, you'll gain exposure to a wide variety of engineering experiences, including: Assist with the preparation of engineering designs and construction documents under the guidance of licensed professionals.

Support the project team by performing basic engineering calculations and technical analysis.

Help research applicable building codes, standards, and regulations for project assignments.

Review reports, drawings, test results, and other project information to support planning and design activities.

Gain experience using Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and other industry software tools to develop project deliverables.

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other team members in a team-oriented environment.

Participate in project meetings and learn about the design and construction process.

Have opportunities to visit construction sites to observe field conditions and gain firsthand exposure to project implementation. What you'll bring: Currently pursuing a degree in Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, with a desire to learn in a collaborative environment.

A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.

Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted.

Hourly Rate:

$24.00/hour - $25/hour (Mid-West).
