Job Description

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the management of complex civil and mechanical construction projects. The role focuses on assisting in the oversight of large-scale projects, specifically within wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, or lift stations. The ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years of verifiable experience in construction projects, with significant expertise in heavy mechanical and civil site improvements. This is a full-time, on-site role with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
Assist in managing all aspects of the construction project to ensure that it meets the standards outlined in the contract documents and special provisions. Support the complete lifecycle of the project, from planning to execution and completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget. Collaborate with contractors and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of all project components, including shoring and dewatering construction. Work closely with the project team to understand and interpret all contract documents and implement strategies that ensure compliance. Coordinate and assist in managing all project resources, including labor, materials, and equipment. Participate in regular project status meetings with stakeholders, providing updates on progress, issues, and solutions. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations on-site, maintaining a focus on the health and safety of all personnel. Assist in managing risks and resolving any disputes or challenges that arise during the project in a timely and efficient manner. Support the preparation of documentation, including project reports, change orders, and progress updates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the contract.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2+ years of verifiable experience as a project engineer or similar role, with a focus on heavy civil and mechanical projects. Demonstrated experience supporting at least one heavy mechanical and civil site improvement at a wastewater treatment plant, pumping station, or lift station project Experience with projects that include shoring and dewatering construction. Strong knowledge of contract documents, project specifications, and safety standards. Ability to manage multiple priorities and assist in making critical decisions in high-pressure environments. Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills. Familiarity with project management software and tools.
