• $100,000 per year, DOE About Sun Construction Sun Construction is a Longmont-based commercial general contractor and facility services company with more than 90 employees and a growing backlog across the Colorado Front Range.

We specialize in complex work in occupied, secure facilities, including data centers, labs, tech and utility campuses, and other sites where badging, background checks, and careful coordination are part of the daily routine. The Role As a Project Engineer, you'll work closely with our project managers and superintendents to keep projects organized, documented, and on track. This is a hands-on role that splits time between the office and active jobsites. It's a great fit for an experienced PE who's ready for more ownership and a clear path toward Project Manager or Superintendent. What You'll Do

• Manage RFIs, submittals, and shop drawing reviews from start to closeout
• Track and maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, logs, change orders, and drawing revisions
• Help with schedule updates and look-ahead, and coordinate subcontractor activity with the field team
• Support buyout, scope reviews, and subcontractor and vendor communication
• Walk jobsites to verify installed work, track progress, and catch issues early
• Help prepare cost tracking, pay application backup, and change order pricing
• Lead closeout, including punch lists, O&M manuals, warranties, and as-builts
• Champion Sun's safety culture on every site What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent field experience
• 2-5 years of commercial construction experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar role
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong organization, written communication, and follow-through
• Comfortable with technology, including Microsoft 365 and Excel; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or MS Project is a plus
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to Front Range jobsites
• Ability to pass a background check and meet client site access and badging requirements Why Sun
