Engineering EB Groton Shipyard Overview Overview D376 is seeking motivated Engineers to support the construction and testing of Power Conversion Modules (PCMs) for
COLUMBIA
Class submarines. PCMs convert power from the medium voltage propulsion system to supply all AC and DC loads in the ships power distribution system. This role provides an opportunity for hands on work that contributes directly to delivering a power distribution system that operates reliably the first time, every time while gaining experience in shipyard operations and electrical power systems in a collaborative engineering environment. This position will be on 2nd shift. What You Will Do as a PCM construction support engineer Develop troubleshooting strategies and write procedures for shipyard execution Support trades and waterfront personnel in the installation and testing of PCMs Work with system owners, Ships Test Organization, electrical trades Ships Management and Reactor Plant Contractor Organization to ensure alignment across troubleshooting activities and ships schedule Help prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and work instructions Communicate with shipyard personnel to gather information, understand construction needs, and resolve technical questions Learn Electric Boat processes, procedures, and core values Provide inputs for design changes to improve design robustness and maintainability Responsibilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Able to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work well in a team setting Ability to organize work, manage multiple tasks, and follow engineering processes Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to take initiative Qualifications Required qualifications: B.S. in Engineering Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the U.S. DoD (candidate must be U.S. citizen) 5 or more years post-graduate engineering experience Preferred qualifications: Familiarity with electrical power systems, power distribution, or electro-mechanical equipment Prior internship or co-op experience in a technical, engineering, or shipyard environment
