Read this first This is a field-and-office role, not an office role with occasional site visits. Expect at least 50% of your time on active construction sites, and on some assignments 100% in the field for several months at a time. About TEC The Engineering Company (TEC) is a civil and heavy civil engineering firm serving public-sector clients across South Florida. We provide project and construction management, owner's representation, construction inspection, and engineering services on pump stations and water control structures, water and sewer, drainage, roadways, streetlighting, port facilities, and municipal buildings and parks. Our clients include the South Florida Water Management District, US Army Corps of Engineers, Miami-Dade County departments, Port Everglades, and cities and towns such as North Miami Beach, North Miami, Bay Harbor Islands, and Hallandale Beach. What you will do You will be the owner's representative on active public infrastructure construction: pump stations, pipelines, roadways, port facilities, and municipal buildings.
In the field:
Represent the owner on site. Hold the contractor to the plans, specifications, schedule, and safety requirements, and raise problems early, before they become delays or change orders. Inspect the work and document it in daily reports. Your record is what the owner, the agency, and the engineer of record rely on. Review submittals, RFIs, and pay applications, and own the logs. Your review is what the project manager leans on before the owner pays. Attend progress meetings, prepare the agenda, write the minutes, and track action items to closure.
In the office:
