Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Building Engineer to join our team and ensure the smooth operation, repair, maintenance, and safety of our hotel and convention center. Reporting directly to the Senior Engineer and working under the direction of the Facilities Manager, this position provides technical leadership, supports complex troubleshooting efforts and ensures peak performance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and life safety systems. Your proactive approach and technical acumen will help sustain our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. This role functions as a lead and subject matter expert, serving as a resource for building engineers and maintenance staff while maintaining hands-on operational responsibilities. Duties Perform routine inspections and advanced diagnostics, preventative maintenance on building systems including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), electrical systems, and mechanical equipment. Support operations by utilizing scissor lifts and other access equipment for high-reach repairs or client needs. Assist in emergency response procedures including fire safety protocols, HVAC/R issues, or power outages to ensure continuous operations. Strong analysis skills for diagnosing complex issues involving electrical or mechanical components. Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment and system failures. Provide guidance and technical direction to engineers and maintenance personnel. Assist Sr. Engineer and Facilities Director in coordinating daily work assignments. Ensure work performed by vendors meets quality, safety and compliance standards. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders and equipment records. Assist in inventory management and procurement of parts and materials. Excellent customer service skills combined with effective communication in English to collaborate across teams and support operational needs. Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail. Prioritize multiple tasks successfully as they arise.
