ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY A

major international steel manufacturer is building a new plant in Ascension Parish and is hiring an Industrial Building & MEP Construction Engineer to join its Construction Department (Civil & Architectural Engineering Team). You will own assigned building, architectural and MEP scopes for an industrial plant, from design review through construction, turnover and long-term maintenance, working across plant functions and outside partners to deliver safe, compliant, on-time results. This is a chance to help build a greenfield plant from the ground up and then keep it running.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Manage construction of building and MEP (HVAC) work Lead maintenance and repair of plant buildings and facilities Select, supervise and manage the performance of subcontractors Review drawings, specifications, calculations, submittals, RFIs and change proposals for constructability and compliance Coordinate field execution, inspections, testing, punch-list closure, turnover documentation and warranty follow-up Monitor contractor safety, quality, schedule, manpower, productivity and cost Control costs and keep project stakeholders informed and aligned Resolve field conflicts and interface issues with engineering, operations, utilities, vendors and authorities having jurisdiction Develop preventive maintenance, inspection and repair plans for assigned infrastructure and facilities

WHAT YOU BRING

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or a related field 3+ years of relevant professional experience in industrial or heavy-manufacturing construction Experienced with building, architectural and MEP scopes from design review through construction Familiarity with building codes, OSHA requirements, concrete/steel standards and construction quality systems Strong ability to manage priorities, analyze information, document work and collaborate across functions Working proficiency with Microsoft 365 and job-related technical systems Clear English communication and the ability to work well in a multicultural environment

PREFERRED

Professional working proficiency in both English and Korean preferred but not required PE, EIT, CCM, PMP or a relevant trade/inspection credential
