Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Geotechnical Engineer (P.E. licensed in RI) About Us We are a leading third-party construction materials testing and inspection firm. We ensure the quality and structural integrity of major infrastructure, commercial, and residential projects across Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. We are seeking a Licensed Engineer to oversee our engineering services, review laboratory data, and support field testing, inspection and data interpretation. Position Overview You will serve as a key technical authority for our firm. This role blends engineering analysis with field operations. You will review subsurface conditions, evaluate construction materials testing (CMT) data, and provide engineering recommendations.
Key Responsibilities Engineering Review:
Analyze soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate testing data.
Report Certification:
Review and approve geotechnical and inspection reports.
Field Inspections:
Oversee shallow/deep foundation inspections, subgrade evaluations, and earthwork operations.
Client Consultation:
Provide technical guidance to contractors, structural engineers, and project owners.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure all testing complies with ASTM, AASHTO, and local RIDOT standards.
Qualifications & Requirements License:
Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Rhode Island is mandatory.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering or construction materials testing.
Technical Skills:
Deep familiarity with soil mechanics, foundation design, and CMT laboratory procedures.
Communication:
Strong technical writing skills for clear engineering reports. Benefits Competitive salary based on experience
