Pay:
$32.00-$40.00 per hour Position Overview Apex Engineering Group is seeking a Structural / Bridge Engineer to join its growing structural team in North Dakota. This position may be based out of the Fargo, Bismarck, or Minot office , with additional flexibility considered depending on experience and business needs. The Structural / Bridge Engineer will work as a key member of project teams supporting bridge and structural projects from preliminary design through final design and construction. This role is well suited for an engineer who enjoys technical design work, collaboration, and taking ownership of assigned project responsibilities. Responsibilities Perform bridge and structural engineering calculations, analysis, and design. Prepare plans, specifications, technical reports, and other project documentation. Develop engineering plans in accordance with applicable agency and industry standards. Review and check structural design work completed by other team members. Coordinate with engineering technicians and multidisciplinary project teams. Assist in developing complete and accurate construction documents. Manage assigned work to meet project schedules and deadlines. Apply applicable bridge and transportation design standards. Assist project managers with technical proposals and project pursuits. Participate in client meetings, project meetings, and construction-related discussions. Exercise independent judgment when evaluating engineering issues and developing solutions. Maintain strong attention to detail and quality throughout the design process. Follow company safety policies and professional standards. Participate in professional organizations and community involvement opportunities as appropriate. Travel and occasional overnight stays may be required. Additional hours may be required during major project deadlines or submittals. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering field. 2+ years of bridge engineering experience preferred. Ability to obtain professional engineering licensure applicable to bridge and structural design within approximately two years of hire preferred. Experience with transportation and public infrastructure projects preferred. Experience working with public agencies in North Dakota or Minnesota is a plus. Bridge inspection experience is beneficial but not required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented and self-motivated. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one. Physical Requirements Ability to work in a professional office environment and regularly operate a computer. Ability to occasionally work outdoors and at project or construction sites. Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods when performing field-related responsibilities. Ability to work required hours in an office, field, or remote environment as needed. Compensation & Benefits Hourly Pay Range:
$32.00-$40.00 per hour Equivalent to approximately $66,560-$83,200 annually , based on a 40-hour workweek. Actual compensation will depend on experience, education, licensure, job location, and internal equity.
