- Englewood Cliffs, NJ Our client, a commercial concrete contractor specializing in structural concrete and civil construction, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to support cast-in-place concrete construction projects.
This position works closely with project management, estimating, field teams, general contractors, and design professionals to review construction documents, identify constructability concerns, resolve field issues, and support projects from preconstruction through completion.
The Senior Structural Engineer will apply a Civil and/or Structural Engineering background and contractor-side structural concrete construction experience to foundations, concrete superstructures, formwork, reinforcing steel/rebar, concrete placement, sequencing, and field execution.
Responsibilities:
Review structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents for constructability, scope, sequencing, discrepancies, conflicts, and missing information.
Provide technical guidance for cast-in-place structural concrete construction, including foundations, concrete superstructures, slabs, formwork, reinforcing steel/rebar, concrete placement, and construction sequencing.
Identify design and field conditions that could affect production, schedule, cost, construction means and methods, or field execution.
Work directly with project managers, superintendents, field personnel, general contractors, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and construction trades to resolve technical and construction-related issues.
Support project teams in evaluating concrete construction means and methods, sequencing, logistics, constructability, and field execution.
Review project documents to identify potential constructability issues and conflicts before they affect field operations.
Participate in project meetings and provide construction-focused engineering input related to structural concrete work.
Support projects throughout the construction lifecycle, including preconstruction planning, field execution, and project completion.
Translate engineering and design documents into practical requirements for concrete construction operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor' s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience in contractor-side structural concrete construction.
Hands-on experience with cast-in-place concrete construction, including foundations, concrete superstructures, formwork, reinforcing steel/rebar, concrete placement, and construction sequencing.
Advanced ability to read and interpret structural and architectural plans, specifications, drawings, and construction documents.
Experience with concrete construction means and methods, field operations, production, and constructability.
Experience working directly with project management teams, superintendents, field personnel, and construction trades.
Experience identifying design conflicts, field conditions, and constructability issues that could affect field execution.
Compensation:
Base salary in the 110k
