Duties Lead the planning, design, and execution of municipal civil infrastructure projects such as stormwater management systems, roadways, pipelines, and public facilities. Develop detailed project schedules utilizing project management tools to ensure timely delivery of all phases from conception through construction. Prepare and review technical engineering reports, schematics, and construction documents using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and other CAD software. Conduct hydrological modeling and hydrologic analysis using specialized tools like HEC (Hydrologic Engineering Centers) software to optimize stormwater systems. Oversee construction management activities including site inspections, quality assurance, safety compliance, and progress monitoring through construction inspection protocols. Manage permitting processes by coordinating with regulatory agencies during the permitting phase to secure necessary approvals efficiently. Utilize GIS platforms such as ArcGIS and GIS-based tools for spatial analysis, mapping, and project planning. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders through clear communication channels to ensure project objectives are met with transparency and professionalism. Generate technical engineering reports that detail project progress, technical challenges, solutions implemented, and compliance status. Lead project teams by assigning tasks effectively while fostering a collaborative environment focused on innovation and excellence. Experience Proven experience managing civil infrastructure projects within a municipal or public works setting with a strong focus on stormwater systems, pipelines, roads, or related civil engineering disciplines. Demonstrated expertise in construction management including scheduling (project scheduling), construction estimating, inspection procedures, and site supervision. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit; GIS platforms like ArcGIS; hydrological modeling tools including HEC software; and hydrologic analysis tools. Strong background in design engineering for civil projects with experience in schematics creation and technical report writing. Familiarity with permitting processes during the permitting phase involving local authorities or environmental agencies. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality control and safety compliance. Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team leadership—ensuring clarity in technical discussions and documentation. Civil engineering licensure or registration is preferred but not mandatory; relevant internships or entry-level experience will also be considered for motivated candidates eager to grow professionally.
