Job Description

Job Summary Atlantic Specialty Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Project Engineer to join our construction management team. The Project Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and owner representatives to assist with the day-to-day management and coordination of active construction projects. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, technically minded, and looking to grow within the construction industry while gaining hands-on experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout. Responsibilities Assist Project Managers with the day-to-day management and coordination of construction projects. Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, bulletins, and other project documents. Prepare, submit, track, and follow up on RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and other project documentation . Assist in preparing and reviewing change order proposals , including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost breakdowns. Maintain project logs and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement items, and outstanding action items. Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, consultants, and owner representatives. Assist with project scheduling and monitor progress against contract milestones and deadlines. Conduct site visits to review existing conditions, construction progress, quantities, and completed work. Assist with material procurement and follow up with vendors and subcontractors regarding deliveries and lead times. Review subcontractor proposals, invoices, and supporting documentation. Assist with payment requisitions, cost tracking, and project financial documentation . Attend project meetings, prepare meeting notes as needed, and follow up on outstanding action items. Maintain organized and accurate project files and records. Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in identifying and resolving field coordination issues. Assist with project closeout, including punch lists, as-built drawings, warranties, O&M manuals, and turnover documentation. Perform other project engineering and construction management responsibilities as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred. Previous construction experience is preferred; qualified entry-level candidates with relevant education or internship experience are encouraged to apply. Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and general project documentation. Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software is a plus but not required. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to work effectively in both office and active construction-site environments. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required. Preferred Experience Experience with any of the following is a plus: Public works or government construction projects Commercial or institutional construction Change order preparation and cost breakdowns RFIs and submittal management Project scheduling Payment requisitions Construction estimating Project closeout documentation Coordination with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors What We're Looking For We are looking for a proactive, organized, and dependable individual who takes ownership of assigned responsibilities and follows tasks through completion. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment, communicating with multiple project stakeholders, and handling both technical and administrative aspects of construction projects. This position offers the opportunity to gain significant hands-on experience working on active construction projects and to grow into increased project management responsibilities within the company.

$73,602.26 - $88,639.27 per year
