Civil engineering experience, preferably in highway/transportation PE license preferred Strong technical and problem-solving skills Experience with design, plans, specs, and project coordination. Experience with steel fabrication Knowledge of the NY State Steel Construction Manual, the NYSDOT Standard Specifications Experience working with customers to estimate jobs.

Responsibilities include:

• Capability to work with multiple external customers as well as coordinating with internal team members to ensure project completion by defined deadlines and established quality standards. Work with the Drafting/Engineering, Quality Control and Production departments to review drawings and move jobs from the beginning to end. Work with the Estimating team to review bids, estimate quantity takeoffs, labor costs, and finalizing the job quotes. Work with the Drafting/Engineering team to set priorities, review and provide comments on calculations performed by staff.

The ideal candidate will have:

Highway/bridge/signage/guide rail/toll collection project experience Familiarity with the manufacturing and fabricating of steel products Basic knowledge of the construction industry and construction principles/practices Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications and scope of services Basic knowledge of construction drawings, contract documents, construction sequencing Technical expertise with welding and welding processes. Working knowledge of the NY State Steel construction manual, MUTCD Manual, and NYSDOT Standard Specifications Proficient in MS Office, Experience with AutoCAD Excellent written and oral communication skills Bachelor's degree in civil engineering

Construction estimating: 1 year (Preferred) Hermosa Corporation, established in 1992, is a manufacturer of highway products located in NY Mills, NY. Our company comprises two main product lines; The sign division manufactures traffic signs, large guide signs and signposts for highways and bridges, and the structure division prides itself on producing cashless tolling gantries, overhead sign structures and pedestrian handrail, along with various types of structural towers and platforms.

Pay:

$60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
