Job Description
Senior Civil Engineer Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead and manage civil engineering projects with a focus on residential and limited commercial development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing civil site plans, stormwater management, and providing technical leadership to project teams. This role requires a strong background in design engineering, team leadership, and the ability to teach and train junior staff. The Senior Civil Engineer will play a key role in ensuring project success through innovative solutions, effective management, and adherence to industry standards. Duties Lead the full civil site design process for residential projects and limited commercial developments, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations. Develop detailed engineering plans including grading, drainage, stormwater management, roadway layouts, and utility coordination. Oversee stormwater management strategies to mitigate environmental impact and meet regulatory requirements. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff, fostering a collaborative team environment. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget. Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project progress. Conduct site inspections and review construction activities to ensure design integrity and quality standards are maintained. Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting civil engineering projects. Skills Proven expertise in civil site design for residential and commercial projects. Strong knowledge of stormwater management principles and practices. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to teach, train, and mentor team members effectively. Proficiency in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil 3D or similar programs. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and regulatory documents. Strong problem-solving skills with innovative thinking for complex design challenges. Effective communication skills for coordinating with clients, teams, and regulatory bodies. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards of quality.
