Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical)
Department:
Professional Services Job Summary Multiple engineering positions available (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) in multiple locations (Camp Lejeune, NC, Beaufort, SC, Cherry Point, NC and Parris Island, SC). Ad hoc support will be provided to Albany, GA and Blount Island, FL. Concourse Federal Group (Concourse) is seeking Engineers to provide non-personal Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) in support of the Marine Corps Barracks Initiative (MCBI). Engineers will provide multidisciplinary technical support and engineering oversight for facility, infrastructure, site development, utility, mechanical, electrical, and related projects across multiple Marine Corps installations. Responsibilities may include reviewing design and construction documents, evaluating existing conditions and system capacities, assessing constructability, conducting site visits and technical inspections, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and preparing engineering analyses, evaluations, design reviews, and technical reports. Depending on discipline and project requirements, Engineers may support civil/site and utility infrastructure, drainage and paving, HVAC and plumbing systems, electrical distribution and power systems, lighting, backup power, telecommunications, specialized facility systems, aviation/airfield infrastructure, industrial facilities, and coastal/marine infrastructure. Duties and Responsibilities Provide engineering oversight and technical support for assigned projects throughout the project lifecycle. Review engineering design documents, construction documents, contractor submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs) for technical accuracy, constructability, compliance, and alignment with project requirements. Evaluate existing site conditions, facility systems, utilities, infrastructure, and system capacities. Support engineering analysis and design reviews for civil, mechanical, electrical, and related facility systems based on assigned discipline. Evaluate site development, grading, drainage, stormwater, paving, utility corridors, and infrastructure systems as applicable. Review HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, ventilation, energy, and related building systems as applicable. Review electrical distribution, power, lighting, backup power, telecommunications, and specialized electrical systems as applicable. Conduct site visits, field assessments, inspections, and constructability reviews. Prepare technical studies, engineering evaluations, load calculations, capacity analyses, life-cycle cost analyses, design review comments, and other technical documentation as required. Support facility and infrastructure assessments and evaluate proposed project solutions and alternatives. Review project designs for compliance with applicable UFC, DoD, Navy/Marine Corps, building, energy, safety, and industry requirements. Identify technical risks, design deficiencies, constructability concerns, and potential project issues and provide recommendations for resolution. Coordinate with architects, engineers, planners, contractors, government personnel, and other technical stakeholders. Participate in project meetings and provide technical input, meeting documentation, and follow-up as required. Support development and review of project requirements, technical documentation, and project deliverables. Monitor assigned technical activities, deliverables, and project milestones in accordance with COR-established timelines. Maintain organized technical records, review logs, calculations, reports, and project documentation. Support quality control and ensure technical deliverables are accurate, complete, and consistent with project requirements. Perform other engineering duties and responsibilities as assigned. Location- and Discipline-Specific Engineering Requirements Camp Lejeune & New River Engineering support may include site development, stormwater management, paving, grading, utility corridors, structural foundation elements, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems, electrical distribution, backup power, lighting, and telecommunications. Depending on discipline, Engineers may support site and utility feasibility studies, pavement condition assessments, independent HVAC load calculations, mechanical life-cycle cost analyses, electrical load analyses, Arc Flash assessments, energy model reviews, ventilation evaluations, and technical reviews of contractor submittals and RFIs. Beaufort Civil Engineers may support drainage, runway and pavement rehabilitation, utility network connections, site inspections, and related civil infrastructure. Electrical Engineers may support airfield lighting controls, primary power substation connections, facility distribution systems, and backup power. Typical deliverables may include site utility feasibility studies, pavement assessment reports, electrical design review logs, energy capacity calculations, and independent technical evaluations. Cherry Point Engineering support may include aviation, airfield, industrial, communications, and other specialized facilities. Civil Engineers may review heavy-loading pavement designs, airfield drainage, utility main relocations, and structural foundation designs for industrial facilities. Mechanical Engineers may support specialized HVAC and exhaust systems for aircraft hangars, clean rooms, and communications centers, including industrial ventilation and energy evaluations. Electrical Engineers may support medium-voltage power systems, aircraft ground power networks, lightning protection, UPS systems, and specialized hangar and communications systems. Typical deliverables may include airfield pavement condition analyses, heavy-duty HVAC load calculations, mechanical life-cycle cost analyses, medium-voltage load studies, Arc Flash analyses, and electrical design reviews. Parris Island Engineering support may include coastal and marine site conditions, training facilities, utility infrastructure, and specialized systems subject to high-humidity and corrosive environments. Civil Engineers may support coastal drainage, training field grading, utility corridors, seawalls, and foundations subject to high-water and saline conditions. Mechanical Engineers may support corrosion-resistant HVAC, industrial dehumidification, barracks and training facilities, and plumbing systems. Electrical Engineers may support corrosion-resistant electrical infrastructure, exterior lighting, and backup power for remote training facilities. Typical deliverables may include coastal utility feasibility studies, civil constructability reviews, structural design reviews, humidity-control HVAC load calculations, mechanical material suitability analyses, facility load analyses, commissioning documentation, and power quality reviews. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program in the relevant discipline. Engineering experience in the applicable discipline, such as civil, mechanical, electrical, or related engineering. Experience supporting facility, infrastructure, public works, AEC, or similar engineering projects. Knowledge of engineering principles, design review practices, construction documentation, and technical evaluation processes. Ability to review technical documents, identify issues, and develop clear engineering recommendations. Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, government personnel, and other stakeholders and serve as the owner's representative. Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard engineering/project documentation tools. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience supporting DoD, Navy/Marine Corps installations or federal government projects. Experience with federal facilities, public works, infrastructure, capital improvement, or AEC projects. Experience with UFC, DoD, Navy/Marine Corps, or other federal design and construction standards. Experience with multidisciplinary facility engineering projects. Experience with aviation, airfield, industrial, coastal/marine, or specialized facility infrastructure. Experience preparing technical studies, engineering evaluations, design reviews, constructability assessments, load analyses, or life-cycle cost analyses. Familiarity with federal project planning, programming, design, construction, and closeout processes. Working Conditions Work may include office, client-site, and field environments. Site visits and field activities may be required based on project needs. Travel may be required.
Work arrangements:
onsite, hybrid, and remote schedules will be based on the current Task Order, assigned projects, client requirements, and Sr. Project Manager requirements, including coverage, conduct, and performance.
