POSITION DESCRIPTION

Andrews, Tx worksite facility Summary The Project Engineer will be involved in the planning, design, and execution of projects at the WCS West Texas site. Work will involve working with internal WCS Maintenance and Operations as well as Contractors to develop engineered solutions for existing and new facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Attending daily operations planning meetings
  • Responsible to coordinate/facilitate daily discussions/meetings supervisors for project statuses, anticipated worksite facility projects and changes being considered.
  • Develop Design Documents for new facilities (buildings, landfills, components, pads)
  • Work with Ops and Maintenance to gather design inputs. Coordinate with other departments as applicable (Rad, Environmental, Licensing, H&S, BD) to verify anticipated project meets WCS needs.
  • Prepare Quality Documentation for all work requests to ensure compliance with Engineering Procedures .
  • Responsible for completing small work projects and information requests, documented on internal Engineering Work Request (EWR), along with other appropriate engineering documents (Drawings, Calculations, etc.) to include in an Engineering Design Package. Keeping track of site projects and jobs and maintaining proper job documentation.
  • Configuration Management
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining current statuses of all drawings and plans to account for changes to facilities, upgraded utility locations (underground and above ground) and to update site layout drawings and maps.
  • Support Construction Projects
  • Partner with the Construction Project Manager to handle ongoing construction. Evaluate Requests for Information, Submittals, and Design Changes. Serve as backup support to the Construction Project Manager.
  • Site Project Management Manage discrete site work project both internal and external (contractor) work. Maintain plan, budget, schedule, and work as liaison between WCS groups and contractors. Facilitate internal work to relieve the planning and administration load from Operations and Maintenance.
  • Field Observation
  • Observe and direct as necessary work performed by contractors and internal work efforts.

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university in civil engineering.
  • Prefer a Professional Engineer License or EIT with 4 years of experience. Computer Skills
  • Utilize AutoCAD software and hardware to import, manage, and draft
  • Engineering modeling software as required.
