Job Overview We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a background in building construction, rural infrastructure, and structural engineering. In this role, you will lead the design, permitting, and management of agricultural and commercial projects throughout the Shenandoah Valley. The ideal candidate blends rigorous engineering standards with practical, hands-on knowledge of farming practices and livestock operations.
Key Responsibilities Design & Engineering :
Develop structural designs for farm infrastructure, commercial buildings, industrial buildings, and agricultural waste management systems.
Permitting & Compliance :
Oversee regulatory compliance through the permitting and construction process, including the Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR) and Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) requirements.
Project Management :
Lead projects from site assessment through construction, serving as the primary liaison for agricultural and commercial clients.
Plan Certification :
Review, approve, and apply your Virginia PE stamp to engineering plans, calculations, and technical reports.
Qualifications Licensure :
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or ability to obtain via reciprocity immediately).
Education :
Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
Experience :
5+ years of engineering experience, with a proven track record working directly on agricultural and/or commercial projects.
Local Knowledge :
Familiarity with Shenandoah Valley agricultural practices, soil types, and regional environmental regulations. Pay:
$55.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 45.0 per week
