Job Requirements Saint Louis, MO Secret Polygraph not specified Mid Level Career (5+ yrs experience) Salary not specified Join Premium to unlock estimated salaries Job Description The Engineering Technician V will support engineering projects throughout the project lifecycle, with an emphasis on CAD production, construction documentation, field verification, and record-drawing maintenance. This position develops and updates facility drawings, incorporates red-line and as-built changes, reviews contractor documentation, conducts field surveys, and ensures that engineering records comply with government and project standards. Key Responsibilities Create detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts using AutoCAD and Revit. Calculate dimensions, square footage, component specifications, and material quantities. Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, site layouts, and structural specifications. Develop and maintain accurate facility and record drawings. Update construction drawings based on red-line and as-built documentation. Review as-built drawings for completeness and accuracy before incorporating them into official record systems. Manipulate CAD layers and use established block, file, and layering standards. Convert existing or third-party drawings into standard AutoCAD formats. Assist mechanical and electrical engineers with construction drawings. Conduct field surveys and verify existing facility conditions. Inspect construction sites and contractor work for compliance with designs, codes, safety requirements, and specifications. Measure dimensions, levels, alignments, and elevations. Maintain daily logs, CAD tracking sheets, inspection records, and project photographs. Develop preliminary plans and cost estimates for facility improvements and system installations. Coordinate engineering work-clearance requests. Transfer information between government automation and record-management systems. Support preventive maintenance activities and maintain current standard operating procedures. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, technical apprenticeship, or trade-school education. Formal AutoCAD and/or Revit training from an accredited technical school or college. Understanding of construction drawings and drafting practices. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance with polygraph. Preferred Skills Experience developing architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, or facility drawings. Experience maintaining record drawings for large commercial, industrial, or government facilities. Familiarity with field surveys and construction-site inspections. Knowledge of building codes, construction specifications, and safety requirements. Experience with CAD layering standards, as-built records, and historical drawing archives. Strong mathematical, computer, documentation, and customer-service skills.
