This role supports the design team by translating design intent into high-quality technical documentation while maintaining company drafting standards, meeting project deadlines, and coordinating with internal teams and consultants. A successful Design Draftsperson is detail-oriented, organized, responsive to feedback, and takes ownership of producing complete and accurate drawing sets. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate architectural drawings and construction documents using Revit. Produce highly accurate as-builts and field measure sometimes complex homes and buildings. Develop permit and construction drawing sets based on the Designer's direction. Revise drawings promptly based on internal reviews, consultant feedback, and jurisdiction comments. Coordinate with designers, consultants, and internal team members to ensure accurate and complete construction documents. Ensure drawings comply with applicable building codes, zoning requirements, and company drafting standards. Perform quality control reviews to minimize drafting errors and omissions. Identify potential design or constructability issues and communicate them proactively to the project team. Maintain organized project files and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Meet assigned project deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously. What Success Looks Like Produces accurate, complete, and code-compliant construction documents with minimal errors. Consistently meets project deadlines and supports on-time permit submittals and project milestones. Delivers high-quality work with minimal revisions through strong attention to detail and quality control. Maintains organized, accurate, and up-to-date project documentation. Identifies and resolves drafting and coordination issues proactively before they impact the project. Collaborates effectively with the Design, Production, BIM, and Consultant teams to ensure coordinated, buildable documents. Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and proactive communication throughout every project. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 2-3 years of residential drafting experience. Advanced proficiency in Revit; experience with SketchUp, D5 Render, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, California building codes, permitting, and construction documentation. Excellent architectural detailing skills with strong accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
