Senior Project Civil Engineer Site Design and Stormwater

Job Description

Overview River Hawk Environmental, LLC is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our growing civil and environmental consulting firm in Middleborough, Massachusetts. The successful candidate will manage site-development projects from initial proposal and feasibility review through design, permitting and construction. This is a senior-level position for a motivated engineer who can work independently, communicate effectively with clients and regulatory boards, and complete projects with minimal supervision. Duties Manage civil-engineering projects from proposal through completion. Prepare proposals, scopes of work, budgets and project schedules. Perform site-layout, grading, drainage, utility, roadway and septic-system design. Prepare commercial, residential and municipal site plans. Complete stormwater analyses and prepare stormwater-management reports. Develop HydroCAD models for detention, infiltration and drainage systems. Prepare construction drawings using AutoCAD and Carlson Civil. Conduct and document Title 5 soil evaluations. Coordinate survey, environmental, geotechnical and architectural information. Prepare applications for Planning Boards, Zoning Boards of Appeals, Conservation Commissions, Boards of Health and other regulatory agencies. Respond to peer-review comments and revise plans and reports as necessary. Attend and present projects at evening municipal meetings. Communicate directly with clients, contractors, municipal officials and reviewing engineers. Provide construction-phase support, including site visits, submittal reviews and responses to contractor questions. Review the work of junior engineers and technical staff. Requirements Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering. At least six years of relevant site/civil engineering experience. Current Engineer-in-Training certification with the ability to obtain a Massachusetts Professional Engineer license promptly. Current Massachusetts-approved Soil Evaluator certification. Strong site-development, grading, drainage and utility-design experience. Demonstrated knowledge of the Massachusetts Stormwater Standards and local permitting requirements. Proficiency with HydroCAD. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Carlson Civil. Experience designing commercial sites, residential developments and roadways. Ability to prepare complete plans, calculations, reports and permit applications. Ability to manage several projects, schedules and deadlines simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Massachusetts Professional Engineer license. Title 5 septic-system design and inspection experience. Experience presenting projects before municipal boards and commissions. Familiarity with wetlands permitting and the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act. Construction-administration and field-inspection experience. Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff. Pay:
$105,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
