Job Description

Mid-Level Electrical Designer responsible for developing complex electrical systems, BIM models, construction documents, and code-compliant designs for large-scale industrial and manufacturing facilities. Job Requirements Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or a related field. Minimum 6 years of professional electrical design experience. Experience supporting heavy industrial or manufacturing facilities. Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Revit MEP. Experience managing shared parameters in Revit. Experience creating custom Revit families. Experience troubleshooting Revit model health and coordination issues. Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC / NFPA 70). Working knowledge of
NFPA 70E.
Experience developing 3D electrical models for industrial projects. Experience with cable tray routing, equipment clearance zones, and underground conduit banks. Experience designing industrial power distribution layouts. Experience producing electrical construction documentation. Preferred Skills Experience in biotech, automotive, chemical, or similar industrial environments. Experience with AGI32. Experience with SKM PowerTools. Experience with ETAP. Experience using BIM 360. Experience using Navisworks for clash detection and coordination. Experience conducting field surveys in active manufacturing facilities. Experience producing as-built documentation. Revit Certified Professional certification. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status. Experience supporting short-circuit and arc-flash studies. Knowledge of applicable state building codes and NFPA standards. Job Responsibilities Develop detailed 3D electrical models using Autodesk Revit. Model cable tray systems, equipment clearance zones, and underground conduit banks. Design layouts for substations, switchgear, Motor Control Centers, and panelboards. Develop industrial power distribution layouts and equipment arrangements. Prepare single-line diagrams. Prepare grounding and lightning protection plans. Develop lighting layouts and related electrical construction documents. Perform load analysis. Perform voltage drop calculations. Perform conduit and wire sizing calculations. Assist with data collection for short-circuit and arc-flash studies. Use BIM 360 and Navisworks to identify and resolve spatial conflicts. Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, process piping, and structural disciplines. Verify designs for compliance with NEC, NFPA, and applicable building code requirements. Support field surveys and update drawings based on existing site conditions. Produce and maintain as-built electrical documentation. Support preparation and issuance of complete electrical construction packages.
