Architectural Design & Pre-construction Coordinator Full-Time Join Our Team Dockham Builders is a growing residential construction company dedicated to delivering exceptional new construction homes and remodeling projects through outstanding craftsmanship, communication, and customer service. We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented Design & Preconstruction Coordinator to join our team. This is a position that offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in interior design or a passion for residential design. The successful candidate will work directly under the guidance of our Lead Designer while collaborating closely with our Estimator and Production Team to ensure every project is fully prepared before construction begins. If you enjoy design and love seeing projects come together from concept to construction, we'd love to meet you. ResponsibilitiesProject Documentation & Jobsite Handoff
  • Assist with preparing projects for construction by organizing and reviewing all required project documentation.
  • Build and maintain comprehensive jobsite binders containing plans, selections, pricing, specifications, permits, and other critical project information.
  • Review project documentation for completeness and accuracy using company checklists and templates.
  • Assist with the final handoff of completed preconstruction packages to Production Management. Design & Selections Support
  • Work under the direction of the Lead Designer to support the design and selections process.
  • Assist with sourcing, organizing, documenting, and tracking client selections.
  • Procure and organize samples of tile, flooring, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, lighting, wallpaper, hardware, and other finish materials.
  • Maintain accurate selection schedules and project specifications.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain product information, availability, lead times, and pricing.
  • Assist with client communication and selection follow-up. Drawings & Drafting
  • Assist the Lead Designer with drawings, drafting, and project documentation.
  • Complete smaller drafting and drawing tasks as directed.
  • Assist with revisions, details, elevations, and other design documentation.
  • Help maintain organized and accurate drawing files throughout the pre-construction process. Interior Pricing & Estimating Support
  • Work closely with the Estimator to gather pricing and product information for interior finishes and selections.
  • Obtain material pricing and installation quotes for tile, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, wallpaper, and other interior products.
  • Communicate with trade partners and vendors to gather quotes, lead times, availability, and installation requirements.
  • Assist with entering and maintaining pricing information in the company's project management software.
  • Help develop accurate, finalized project costs before projects are presented to Production Management. Marketing & Office Support
  • Assist with project photography and documentation for projects under construction.
  • Help coordinate with clients after project completion to schedule photography and ensure completed projects are properly documented.
  • Assist with social media content and other marketing activities as needed.
Growth Opportunity This is a position designed to provide exposure to the full design and preconstruction process. The successful candidate will initially work under the Lead Designer and closely with the Estimator, learning the company's processes and gradually taking on more responsibility. The position provides an opportunity to develop skills in interior design, selections, drafting, estimating, construction documentation, vendor coordination, client communication, marketing, and residential construction. Qualifications
  • Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field or equivalent professional interior design experience preferred.
  • Strong eye for design, color, materials, and detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive to accomplish goals.
  • Comfortable using computers, email, and Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness and ability to learn construction management software.
  • Experience in residential construction or remodeling is a plus but not required. Benefits

$60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
