Civil CAD Design Engineer Municipal/Land Development

Job Description

Position Overview An established, multi-disciplinary engineering and consulting firm is seeking a Design Engineer with experience in Municipal or Private/Land Development Engineering to join its team in Hamilton, NJ . This is an opportunity to join a collaborative organization that provides opportunities for professional development, career growth, and increased technical responsibility. Key Responsibilities Prepare or assist with the design of site grading, drainage, utilities, soil erosion and sediment control measures, and stormwater management systems. Prepare or assist with NJDEP and other agency permit applications related to wetlands, flood hazard areas, and stormwater management. Apply knowledge of local Municipal Land Use Ordinances to assist with the review of site plans, subdivision plans, plot plans, and stormwater management plans. Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D design tools to prepare engineering designs and calculations. Prepare engineering reports supporting various design elements of projects. Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare construction cost estimates. Prepare or assist with specifications for public bidding based on the NJ Local Public Contracts Law and NJ Local Public Schools Contract Law. Communicate regularly with Project Managers and other team members regarding the status and progress of assigned tasks. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, planners, surveyors, landscape architects, and other professionals on multidisciplinary projects. Qualifications B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field. EIT certification preferred . 4-5 years of experience in Municipal and/or Private Land Development Engineering. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D . Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple assignments and deadlines.
