WHO YOU ARE
You are an experienced CAD designer who can take a project from concept sketch to a complete, fabrication-ready drawing set with minimal supervision. You know AutoCAD inside and out, you have produced fabrication and production drawings before, and you are comfortable working directly with engineers on structural details and redlines. We are looking for an outgoing, self-motivated CAD Designer (Level II) to join our Smyrna, TN office as we continue to grow. Your work will primarily involve project design, drafting, fabrication/production drawings, structural design, and report preparation for SignCalc and other projects. Experience in fabrication/production drawings, sign design, and structural design is a plus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform SignCalc project work — design, drafting, and report preparation — 90% of total job Perform additional design work to support other project types as needed — 10% of total job Produce fabrication and production drawings for sign structures, supports, and related assemblies Develop and detail structural design elements in coordination with project engineers Incorporate engineer redlines and client markups accurately and on schedule Maintain drawing standards, layering, title blocks, and file organization across projects Communicate project status and flag conflicts or missing information early
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required Associate's degree in a relevant discipline 5 years of job-related CAD design and drafting experience Proficiency with AutoCAD, current release Experience in creating fabrication and production drawings Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) Preferred Design experience with residential and commercial buildings, or with signage Experience with RISA-3D finite element analysis software Prior experience in the sign industry

Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally. Both internally and externally (with clients) Able to work either independently on projects or as part of a small team, depending upon the project requirements. Ability to shift focus from one task to another without loss of quality or productivity Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dimensioning, notes, and callouts Ability to manage multiple active projects and meet deadlines Willingness to take directions from engineers and incorporate feedback Team-oriented and dependable
