Controls Specialist McVantage Packaging Tuscumbia, Alabama Job Summary McVantage Packaging is looking for a Controls Specialist to help keep our production equipment running safely and reliably. This role is a good fit for someone who can troubleshoot industrial controls, find the cause of machine problems, and help improve equipment. Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC systems is required. What You'll Do Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and other machine control systems. Work with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC systems to find faults and restore equipment. Find the root cause of machine stops and repeat control problems. Help reduce downtime and improve machine reliability. Support approved PLC program changes, control upgrades, and equipment improvements. Back up and maintain PLC programs, HMI files, and drive settings. Read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics. Work with maintenance team members, operators, managers, and vendors to solve problems. Record repairs, faults, parts used, and downtime. Follow lockout/tagout, electrical safety rules, and all required safety procedures. What We're Looking For Hands-on experience troubleshooting Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC systems. Experience with industrial machine controls and electrical troubleshooting. Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams. Knowledge of sensors, motor controls, VFDs, and HMIs. A practical, problem-solving approach and attention to detail. Ability to communicate clearly and work well with a maintenance team. Commitment to safe work practices around industrial equipment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with automated equipment in a manufacturing plant.\ Experience with industrial networks, servo systems, or machine safety controls.
