Position:
Corporate E-Waste Solutions (CEWS) is seeking an experienced Laptop & Computer Technician to join our IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) and eWaste processing operation in Brea, CA. This is a hands-on warehouse-based ITAD position , not a traditional help-desk, desktop support, or office-based computer technician role. The successful candidate will have practical experience working with laptops, desktops, computer components, and electronic equipment and understand the processes involved in preparing IT assets for data security, testing, refurbishment, parts recovery, resale, reuse, and responsible recycling . Candidates should be comfortable working in a warehouse environment where computer equipment is received in bulk and must be efficiently processed, evaluated, dismantled, sorted, and prepared for its next disposition.
What You'll Be Doing Laptop & Computer Processing:
Process incoming laptops, desktops, monitors, servers, networking equipment, and other IT assets Inspect and evaluate equipment to determine appropriate processing and disposition Perform laptop and desktop disassembly using hand and power tools Remove batteries, hard drives, SSDs, RAM, CPUs, motherboards, displays, keyboards, optical drives, power supplies, and other components as applicable Identify reusable, recyclable, and damaged components Sort and organize components for reuse, resale, parts recovery, or recycling Perform basic functional testing and troubleshooting of IT equipment Identify common hardware failures and physical damage Prepare equipment for refurbishment, resale, reuse, or downstream recycling Follow established procedures for asset identification, processing, and disposition
ITAD & Data Security:
Handle IT assets in accordance with company security and chain-of-custody procedures Perform or assist with secure data wiping and data destruction processes as assigned Understand the importance of securely processing devices containing potentially sensitive or confidential information Follow data security procedures when handling hard drives, SSDs, laptops, desktops, and other storage devices Accurately document asset information, serial numbers, processing status, and disposition Identify and properly segregate assets requiring additional data security or processing Maintain accurate records throughout the ITAD processing workflow
Warehouse & Material Handling:
Receive, unload, move, stage, and organize incoming IT equipment Load and unload trucks, pallets, gaylords, containers, and other materials Move equipment throughout the warehouse using pallet jacks, carts, and other material-handling equipment Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment when trained and authorized Work safely around warehouse traffic, equipment, pallets, electronics, and recyclable materials Maintain organized work areas and keep equipment moving efficiently through the processing workflow Assist with general warehouse and e-waste processing duties as needed
Required Experience & Qualifications:
Candidates should have professional, hands-on experience with computer hardware and electronic equipment. The following experience is strongly preferred or required: Previous professional experience processing, repairing, refurbishing, dismantling, or recycling laptops and/or desktop computers Practical experience disassembling laptops and identifying internal components Understanding of IT asset disposition (ITAD), e-waste processing, electronics recycling, or a similar environment Knowledge of secure data wiping, data destruction, or data sanitization processes Previous warehouse, production, material handling, shipping/receiving, or recycling experience Ability to identify common computer components and understand their function Experience using hand tools and power tools for computer/electronics disassembly Ability to accurately document asset information and follow established processing procedures Ability to work efficiently while processing a high volume of equipment Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to follow safety, security, and operational procedures
Important:
This Is Not a Hobbyist or Help-Desk Position This position involves daily hands-on processing of IT equipment in a warehouse/e-waste environment . Experience limited to personal computer building, gaming computers, home repairs, school projects, or general familiarity with computers does not by itself qualify as the professional ITAD/e-waste processing experience sought for this position . Candidates should understand that the work may involve processing large quantities of used, damaged, outdated, or otherwise end-of-life equipment and performing repetitive dismantling, sorting, testing, material handling, and refurbishment tasks throughout the workday. The following experience is a plus: ITAD or electronics recycling experience Laptop refurbishment or computer repair experience Commercial electronics processing Data wiping or data destruction experience Experience with data erasure software or hardware Asset tracking or inventory management systems Experience processing large volumes of IT equipment Forklift experience or certification Shipping and receiving experience Experience identifying computer hardware for resale or parts recovery
Physical Requirements:
This is an active warehouse position. Employees should be comfortable. Standing and walking for extended periods throughout the workday Frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting Repetitively using hand tools Handling laptops, desktops, monitors, servers, and other electronic equipment Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation Working around warehouse equipment, pallets, carts, and moving materials Working in an environment where dust, noise, varying temperatures, and electronic recycling materials may be present Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position in accordance with applicable law.
Work Environment:
The position is performed primarily in a warehouse/e-waste processing environment , rather than an office or traditional IT service-desk environment.

Used and damaged electronic equipment Dust and debris Warehouse noise Pallets, gaylords, containers, and bulk equipment Repetitive processing and dismantling tasks Warehouse traffic and material-handling equipment Varying temperatures Candidates should be comfortable working in this type of environment on a consistent basis.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday:
7:30 AM-4:00 PM Saturday overtime may be available or required based on operational needs. Overtime, weekends, and extended shifts may be required in accordance with business needs and applicable California wage and hour laws. Employees are expected to comply with all applicable meal period and rest break requirements and company policies.
