Fiber Installation & Repair Technician (FTTH) — Horizon Fiber LLC, Point Reyes Station, CA $26-$40/hr DOE

• M-F 8:00-4:30 For over 38 years, we've been the local provider for West Marin. We're a small team that takes pride in service the big companies can't match. We're looking for a technician to install, maintain, and repair fiber-to-the-home service for residential and commercial customers. Every day is different, and you'll wear multiple hats to help the team succeed. What you'll do Install aerial and underground fiber drops, in-home wiring, ONTs, and Wi-Fi routers Diagnose and repair optical and wireless network issues Test and verify signal levels and performance, and configure equipment to meet customer needs Run, pull, splice, and terminate fiber and cable Walk customers through their equipment and service in plain language Follow safety protocols and industry standards, and maintain tools, test equipment, and your vehicle Required Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Comfortable working outdoors in all weather, at heights (poles, ladders, bucket truck), and in crawlspaces and trenches Able to lift 50 lbs Clear, friendly communication with non-technical customers Valid driver's license and good driving record Must live within about 60 minutes' drive of our office (520 Mesa Rd, Point Reyes Station) Preferred Experience with fiber, coax, and network connectors Experience with test equipment: optical power/light meter, OTDR, fusion splicer, voltmeter, signal meter Comfortable with new technologies Benefits Health care and matching 401(k) Paid vacation, holiday, and sick time Overtime as needed; rotating on-call once qualified Company vehicle during work hours, work cell phone, and uniform shirts Free internet service if you live in our service area Offers are contingent on a drug screen and a background check conducted after a conditional offer, in accordance with the California Fair Chance Act.
