THE JOB Our shop floor runs on precision. Every CNC machine, mill, lathe, and grinder has to hold tight tolerances so the tools we build can do the same for our customers. You'll keep that equipment running. You'll handle preventive maintenance, track down the root cause when something goes down, and fix it fast, whether the problem is mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or in the controls. You'll also help install and set up new machines as our team grows. This role is for someone who takes pride in a machine that runs right, and would rather prevent a breakdown than react to one.

IN YOUR FIRST 12 MONTHS, YOU WILL

Learn the major production equipment on our floor and what each machine needs to stay in top shape. Keep the preventive maintenance schedule on track. Reduce repeat breakdowns by fixing root causes, not just symptoms. Help install, calibrate, and set up new machinery. Build strong working relationships with production so maintenance happens with minimal disruption.

WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY TO DAY

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manual and CNC machines, mills, lathes, grinders, and other precision equipment, including high-precision bearings. Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime. Troubleshoot PLC systems and complex machinery problems, and put effective fixes in place. Install and maintain electrical systems from low voltage (as low as 5 volts) to high voltage (up to 480 volts). Inspect equipment to catch issues early and ensure compliance with safety standards. Handle and dispose of waste fluids according to safety procedures. Coordinate maintenance with production teams to keep disruption to a minimum. Follow safety protocols and help keep the workplace safe for everyone.

WHAT YOU BRING

High school diploma or GED, plus technical or other relevant training. 2+ years of equipment maintenance and electrical systems experience in a manufacturing environment. Electrical experience with both low voltage (as low as 5 volts) and high voltage (up to 480 volts). Experience or certification with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems. Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic control systems. Experience with precision mechanical components, including high-precision bearings. Ability to read construction, electrical, and equipment drawings and schematics. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Basic computer skills for entering and retrieving information in standard business software. Clear communication. You follow written and verbal directions and know when to escalate. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, and the flexibility to adapt when priorities shift. Ability to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a team. Valid driver's license (may be required depending on local, state, or contract requirements).

NICE TO HAVE

Knowledge of Cal/OSHA and OSHA safety regulations. Comfort applying fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a hands-on role. You must be able to do the following for extended periods, with or without assistance: Maneuver in and around equipment. Bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and crawl. Push, pull, and lift up to 35 pounds. Climb ladders and step stools as needed. Work is performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with forklifts, material handling, and production equipment, as well as in an office setting. Expect noise from machinery and, depending on the weather, exposure to heat, cold, wind, or rain.
