This position is a good fit for an automation technician who enjoys troubleshooting communications and wants to develop stronger skills with industrial networking and wireless systems. You do not need to be an IT or networking expert. We are looking for someone with a solid technical foundation who is willing to learn.

What You Will Be Doing:
Install and troubleshoot industrial Ethernet networks Configure and troubleshoot Moxa and similar industrial network switches Work with RF radios and wireless communication systems Install and align antennas Troubleshoot communication issues between field equipment and SCADA systems Work with PLCs, RTUs, flow computers and other automation equipment Set up basic IP addresses and network connections Troubleshoot Ethernet, serial and Modbus communications Replace and configure failed network or communication equipment Assist with new well-site and facility automation installations Document network equipment and changes made in the field Work with other automation technicians to solve communication problems
Your Skills and Qualifications:
Experience with industrial automation, instrumentation, electrical or oilfield equipment Basic understanding of PLCs, RTUs or SCADA systems Comfortable using a laptop to configure and troubleshoot equipment Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Willingness to learn industrial networking and RF communications Ability to work independently in the field Valid driver's license Experience with Moxa switches, FreeWave, XetaWave, Cambium, Ubiquiti or other industrial radios is helpful, but not required. Basic networking knowledge such as IP addresses, Ethernet and Modbus is also helpful, but we are willing to train the right person. The Right Person We're not looking for a network engineer or IT expert. We're looking for a good automation technician who enjoys troubleshooting, is comfortable working with computers and wants to become the person the team can rely on when a site has a communication or network problem. This position provides an opportunity to develop specialized skills in industrial networking, RF communications and SCADA systems while continuing to work hands-on with oilfield automation equipment.
