Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Fiber Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fiber splicing, network installation, and telecommunication services. This role involves working both in the field and in a technical environment, ensuring the installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks. The Fiber Technician will be responsible for delivering high-quality service to our clients while adhering to safety standards and best practices. Duties Perform fiber splicing and termination for various types of fiber optic cables. Install and maintain network infrastructure, including Cisco routers and Ethernet cabling. Conduct field service activities, troubleshooting issues related to telephony and data services. Utilize hand tools and equipment such as ohmmeters for testing and diagnostics. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion and client satisfaction. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory management. Apply mechanical knowledge to assist in the installation of low voltage systems. Provide exceptional customer service while representing the company on-site. Qualifications Proven experience in fiber splicing, network installation, or related fields. Familiarity with Cisco routers and computer networking principles. Previous experience as a service technician in telecommunications is preferred. Strong understanding of cabling standards, electrical principles, and low voltage systems. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members. Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting equipment or working in various environmental conditions.
