About Us GNG Solutions is a growing provider of building automation, security, IT, and low-voltage control system solutions. We specialize in the installation, integration, programming, and commissioning of advanced control systems for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical facilities. We are seeking an experienced Building Automation (BAS) Technician with Niagara N4 expertise and working knowledge of PLC controls to support a long-term data center project in Minooka, Illinois. We are open to hiring qualified individuals as W-2 employees or engaging eligible independent subcontractors. Position Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, integration, testing, and commissioning of Building Automation Systems (BAS), primarily using Niagara N4. The ideal candidate will have hands-on BAS experience, a solid understanding of HVAC control systems, and familiarity with PLC programming and ladder logic. Experience with Honeywell MasterLogic 200 (ML200) PLCs is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates with experience on other PLC platforms, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or similar systems, are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, program, and commission BAS using Niagara N4. Work with Niagara JACE controllers, Workbench, and BAS field devices. Integrate HVAC equipment and PLC-based control systems into BAS platforms. Configure, test, and troubleshoot Honeywell ML200 or similar PLC controllers. Read, interpret, and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic and assist with programming modifications. Perform point-to-point testing, I/O verification, functional testing, and commissioning. Configure and troubleshoot BACnet, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, and other communication protocols. Troubleshoot control panels, sensors, actuators, field devices, and communication networks. Review electrical drawings, control schematics, and sequences of operation. Verify system functionality, alarms, interlocks, and control sequences. Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other contractors during installation and commissioning. Maintain accurate commissioning documentation, test results, and project records. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC controls, or DDC systems. Niagara N4 certification or demonstrated hands-on experience with Niagara N4 programming, integration, and commissioning. Strong understanding of HVAC controls, DDC controllers, and BAS architecture. Working knowledge of PLCs and ability to read and troubleshoot ladder-logic programs. Experience with BACnet, Modbus, and TCP/IP networking. Ability to interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and technical specifications. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications Honeywell MasterLogic 200 (ML200) programming, configuration, or commissioning experience. Honeywell ML200 training or certification. Experience with Honeywell SoftMaster programming software. PLC experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or similar platforms. Niagara N4 Technical Certification. Experience with Niagara Workbench and JACE controllers. Previous data center or mission-critical facility experience. Experience in BAS-to-PLC integration and functional commissioning. Diploma or degree in Electrical, Automation, Instrumentation, HVAC Controls, or a related technical field. Employment:

Independent Subcontractors:

Qualified independent BAS technicians or established controls subcontracting businesses are welcome to apply. Hourly subcontractor rates will be negotiated based on technical expertise, certifications, and project requirements. Long-term project engagement, with an anticipated duration of approximately 18 months. Subcontractor arrangements are subject to applicable independent contractor classification requirements. What We're Looking For We are primarily seeking a skilled BAS technician with Niagara N4 expertise and practical PLC knowledge rather than a dedicated PLC programmer. Direct Honeywell ML200 experience is an advantage, but candidates with strong BAS commissioning skills and experience troubleshooting other PLC platforms are encouraged to apply.
