Job Description
Join the Bodine Electric Team! Bodine Electric Company is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our Engineering team in Northfield, Illinois. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys testing products, solving problems, working with a variety of test equipment, and supporting engineers throughout the product development and testing process. As an Engineering Technician, you will work closely with our Electrical and Electronics Engineering team to test and evaluate motors, gearmotors, motion control systems, and customer applications. You will also support product performance and life testing, build prototypes and test fixtures, and document test results. What You'll Do Test motors, gearmotors, motion control systems, and customer applications using a variety of electrical test equipment. Conduct product performance and life testing. Collect, analyze, and document test results and prepare technical reports. Build sample motors and PCB assemblies for engineering evaluation and testing. Design and build test fixtures for use in the engineering lab and manufacturing operations. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment. Assist engineers with product development, testing, troubleshooting, and other technical projects. Recommend the purchase or rental of test equipment when needed. Support the company's quality system and follow applicable standard operating procedures. Follow departmental procedures and all company safety policies. Perform other duties and technical assignments as needed. Travel occasionally as required. What We're Looking For 4-10 years of related experience working with electromechanical and/or electronic products. Associate degree in electrical, mechanical, electronics, or a related technical field preferred but not required. Experience using electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, current probes, meters, and power analyzers. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematic diagrams. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Ability to independently diagnose problems and creatively solve technical challenges. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to accurately document testing, results, and technical findings. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with engineers and other team members. Why Bodine Electric?
