Join the Volo Internet + Tech Team Volo Internet + Tech is looking for a motivated Fiber & Wireless Network Technician to help build, expand, and maintain our growing fiber and wireless network throughout Central Illinois. This is a hands-on position that combines underground construction, fiber optic installation, wireless networking, and customer installations. If you enjoy working outdoors, operating equipment, climbing towers, solving technical problems, and learning new skills, we'd love to meet you. Responsibilities Install and maintain fiber optic and wireless network infrastructure. Install underground conduit using directional boring equipment, trenchers, mini excavators, vibratory plows, and skid steers. Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cable. Install and troubleshoot wireless radios, Ethernet switches, and low-voltage cabling. Climb communication towers and work on rooftops using proper safety equipment. Perform utility locates and read construction prints. Assist with customer installations and service repairs. Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment. Complete work documentation using mobile devices. Qualifications Experience with fiber optics, wireless networking, underground utilities, low-voltage wiring, or construction equipment. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Comfortable working outdoors year-round. Comfortable working at heights up to 350 feet and in confined spaces. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. CDL, fiber splicing, or networking experience is a plus but not required. Must live within 15 miles of Urbana, IL. Benefits
