Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Fiber Optic Technician, where you'll play a vital role in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic communication systems that power modern telecommunications networks. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors on cutting-edge infrastructure projects, utilizing your technical expertise and hands-on skills to ensure seamless data transmission and connectivity. As a key contributor, you'll operate heavy equipment, climb utility poles, and interpret technical schematics to deliver reliable fiber optic services that keep communities connected and businesses thriving. Duties Support linemen in installing, repairing, and maintaining overhead and underground fiber lines using appropriate rigging techniques. Assist with the operation of bucket trucks and bucket lifts to access elevated work areas safely. Help with cabling and conduit installation. Participate in tree trimming activities near lines to prevent outages and ensure safety clearance. Physical ability to perform demanding outdoor tasks including lifting heavy equipment, climbing poles or ladders, and working in various weather conditions. Requirements Experience operating bucket trucks or bucket lifts is a plus. Ability to work under all weather conditions Ability to lift at least 50 pounds & stand on your feet all day. Must stay off your phone during work hours Must have thick skin and a strong work ethic Physical fitness to perform manual labor tasks including lifting, climbing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
