Offshore SCADA Technician
Job Description
Position Summary GOM Administration, LLC is seeking an experienced Offshore SCADA Technician to support automation and control systems across our offshore production facilities. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing SCADA systems, PLCs, instrumentation, and industrial communication networks to ensure safe and reliable operations. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair SCADA software, hardware, and field automation equipment. Modify and troubleshoot PLC programs using Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Modicon platforms. Configure and maintain HMI interfaces and operator control systems. Support offshore communication systems, including VSAT, microwave radio, fiber optic networks, and telemetry systems. Calibrate and configure transmitters, flow computers, control valves, and other field instrumentation. Ensure automation systems comply with BSEE, USCG, and company cybersecurity standards. Provide rapid technical support during equipment failures and process upsets to minimize production downtime. Maintain accurate maintenance records and support preventive maintenance initiatives. Qualifications Education & Experience Technical training or degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, Electrical Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of automation or instrumentation experience in the oil and gas industry. Offshore production experience is strongly preferred. Technical Skills Experience with SCADA platforms such as Wonderware, Ignition, or ClearSCADA. Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Modicon). Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols, including Modbus, OPC, and TCP/IP. Familiarity with instrumentation calibration and process control systems. Required Certifications Valid TWIC Card (or ability to obtain before hire). Valid HUET certification (or ability to obtain before hire). Physical Requirements Ability to work in remote offshore environments. Ability to climb structures up to 100 feet. Ability to lift equipment and work in varying weather conditions.
