Full Time Field Service Technician/In-House Electronics Technician Location:

Work Hours:
Field Service - Scheduled as needed based on customer orders This position may require occasional overtime, for which additional compensation will be provided. In-House - Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Position is Full Time with benefits after 90 days (vacation time and health/dental/vision insurance), company holidays. Qualified candidates should be team players, have good organizational skills, be proficient using a computer, and have sound analytical problem-solving and documentation skills. Ideal candidates will have experience in testing power electronic circuits (AC/DC circuit knowledge) and troubleshooting knowledge of electronic circuits at the component level. Candidates must possess excellent customer service skills and communication skills and be able to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Specific duties will include both of the following roles: Field Service Technician Responsibilities Uninstall old/inoperable Uninterruptable Power Supplies and/or Replacement Battery Cartridges Install new/remanufactured Uninterruptable Power Supplies and/or Replacement Battery Cartridges Install and configure network management cards Transport Uninterruptible Power Supplies and RBCs to and from customer site Test and troubleshoot installed Uninterruptable Power Supplies and RBCs DC circuit troubleshooting, AC circuit troubleshooting Circuit functionality verification Use of digital multi-meters and basic hand tools Work with other team members to complete large installation projects. Educate customers on basic operation of their equipment, informing them of issues they may experience and the necessary corrective actions. Establish, promote and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, co-workers, sales representatives and others as appropriate. Maintain and safeguard company-issued vehicle, tools and equipment. Timely and accurate completion of paperwork including Field Service Reports, time cards, and expense reports. Effectively communicate with the Service Manager Attend product specific training as necessary. Job will also require some heavy lifting Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Eye protection, others) Must have current valid driver's license Abide by company automobile use policy Field Service Position requires travel to customer sites within Maryland, DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and other states within a reasonable driving distance. Travel to states further will require plane travel and rental car usage to the customer site. Company provides a company vehicle for all customer site visits within driving distance. Company pays for transportation costs (airfare, rental car, lodging, meals on overnight trips, and gas) for site visits outside driving distance) Company provides all tools required for service installations. When not completing assigned Field Service assignments, employee will be employed as a full time In-House Electronics Technician In-House Electronics Technician Responsibilities Test, troubleshoot, and repair of Uninterruptable Power Supplies Battery pack assembly and replacement DC circuit troubleshooting, AC circuit troubleshooting Surface-mount and through-hole soldering Circuit functionality verification Use of oscilloscopes and digital multi-meters and basic hand tools Job will also require some heavy lifting and some basic warehouse work Founded in 1988, CoastTec, is the leading Reconditioning and Repair Center for Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS).
