WORK ENVIRONMENT

) Job Summary We are a 103-year-old, family-owned metal fabrication manufacturer looking for an experienced CNC laser setup technician who wants a long-term home. This role is for someone who can set up and run cutting jobs independently, understands how material, thickness, assist gas, and machine settings affect cut quality—and takes pride in figuring out exactly why a part isn't cutting right and fixing it at the source. If you're the person who checks the print twice, measures the first part before running the batch, and keeps notes on which settings worked, we'd like to talk to you. Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting equipment, including first-piece checks before running production. Review drawings, material specifications, and work instructions before cutting, and flag discrepancies before they become scrap. Adjust cutting conditions, including speed, power, focus, gas pressure, and piercing settings, to achieve clean, accurate cuts. Troubleshoot rough edges, incomplete cuts, excessive dross, and other quality issues by working methodically to the root cause. Inspect finished parts with calipers and other measuring tools and verify them against print tolerances. Record proven cutting parameters and setup notes so repeat jobs run consistently. Perform routine machine checks and follow shop safety procedures. Qualifications At least 5 years of hands-on laser cutting experience in a metal fabrication shop. Strong knowledge of cutting conditions for different metals and thicknesses.

you measure, document, and think through problems step by step rather than guessing. A stable work history and an interest in building a long-term career with one company. Strong Plus CNC laser programming or nesting software experience. Experience with Amada flat lasers or Mazak tube lasers.
