Overview The Instrument Technician plays an essential role in supporting our clinical team by ensuring all instruments, equipment and treatment areas are cleaned, sterilized, organized and ready for patient care. This position is ideal for someone interested in beginning a career in orthodontics, with the opportunity to develop the skills needed to transition into a Dental Assistant role thorugh hands-on training. Duties Clean, disinfect, sterilize & package all orthodontic instruments according to
OSHA, CDC
& office protocols. Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, maintaining accurate sterilization logs. Organize and restock clinical trays, instruments and treatment areas. Maintain inventory of sterilization supplies and notify management when items need to be reordered. Ensure sterilization and laboratory areas remain clean, organized and compliant with infection control standards. Assist with opening and closing clinical duties as assigned. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Growth & Development As proficiency is demonstrated, the Instrument Technician will have the opportunity to expand their responsibilities by learning clinical assisting skills, including: Chairside orthodontic assisting. Taking digital photographs and radiographs. Preparing patients for treatment. Learning orthodontic procedures and terminology. Assisting doctors during appointments. Providing patient education on oral hygiene and appliance care. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity to handle small instruments and equipment. We're seeking someone who is motivated to build a long-term career in Orthodontics. Pay:
$15.50 - $17.00 per hour
